Born on 15.9.1949 at Moti Dhari and belongs to Saldi, Tal. Mota Liliya, District Amreli. After graduation from Gujarat University in the Faculty of Arts with Philosophy, did law with Diploma in Labour Practice and Post Graduation in Laws (LL.M.) in Part-II. For this he was awarded a merit scholarship from Gujarat University. Enrolled as an Advocate on 25.6.1975 with the Bar Council of Gujarat and started practice from 25th June 1975. Initially, practised in the City Civil Court, Ahmedabad for two years. Appeared in Labour Courts, Industrial Courts and Industrial Tribunals in the State of Gujarat as well as the High Court of Gujarat. During a span of practice of 23 years at the Bar, he conducted various cases in diverse fields like Civil Law, Constitutional Law with a specialisation in Labour and Service matters. Along with the busy practice of the Bar, was also associated with the profession of teaching. Conducted classes in I. M. Nanavaty Law College at Ahmedabad teaching various subjects like Constitution of India, Administrative Law, Labour Laws, Sales of Goods Act, Contract Act etc. for a period from 1985 to 1995. Elevated to the Bench of the Gujarat High Court as Additional Judge on 17.9.1999 and confirmed as Permanent Judge on 1.12.2000.
